This flight is scheduled to take 13 hours and 45 minutes, making travel significantly faster compared to current options, which typically require at least three more hours in transit.

Passengers onboard can look forward to a comfortable journey with amenities such as in-seat television, Wi-Fi, charging outlets, and USB ports. For those flying in business class, Etihad offers lie-flat seats, access to airport lounges, and even a chauffeur service to and from Zayed International Airport for a seamless travel experience.

According to Disney CEO Robert A. Iger, the project will rise in spectacular fashion, seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology with Abu Dhabi’s unique character to deliver an immersive and modern guest experience.

The project will be a collaborative effort — Disney’s creative teams and Imagineers will provide vision and leadership, while Miral will take charge of development, construction, and operation, similar to the successful model used for Tokyo Disneyland Resort. This alliance gives Disney a chance to connect with new audiences, while further establishing Yas Island as a premier destination for family entertainment and leisure.

While detailed information on the park’s attractions has yet to be released, the announcement confirmed that the resort will offer themed accommodations, a variety of dining and retail experiences, and attractions that celebrate both Disney’s beloved heritage and the futuristic, cultural spirit of Abu Dhabi. “Our resort in Abu Dhabi will be the most advanced and interactive destination in our portfolio,” noted Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, emphasizing how the shoreline location will enrich storytelling possibilities.

I may still prefer wild encounters with sea creatures, but for a “slam dunk” of a dive, Deep Dive Dubai delivered in ways I never imagined.

Haunting divers’ songs, known as fan al-bahri, fill the courtyard, echoing tales of longing and perseverance.

As the path continues, visitors encounter restored mansions and trading houses that once belonged to wealthy merchants. Some now serve as exhibition spaces curated by world-renowned designers like Dutch architect Anne Holtrop. A standout is the Siyadi House, adjacent to Bahrain’s oldest mosque. The building’s former majlis — a room for receiving guests — has been reimagined as the Siyadi Pearl Museum. Inside, guests can view exquisite pieces, including pearl jewelry commissioned by Cartier, who famously traveled to Bahrain in 1912 to source gems directly from the Gulf.

“Pearl diving is still in our blood,” says Mohamed Al Slaise, a fourth-generation pearl diver and one of the local guides offering immersive diving tours. “The Pearling Path helps us understand how our ancestors lived — it’s the foundation of today’s Bahrain.”
